WEB / CASE response-to-screen

A 200 arrived. Why is the book missing?

Duru opens Atlas Notes. The Network panel shows 200, while the screen still shows the previous book. Investigate HTTP, body parsing and DOM separately.

Observation file

This is a synthetic debugging exercise. One record has status=200, Content-Type=application/json and requestId=screen-01. Another records a body parsing error. The DOM observation still shows the old title. These are not captured records from a real browser session.

Which explanation is supported?

HTTP receipt is observed; successful parsing and rendering are not. Status=200 does not establish JSON validity, expected schema or the correct book. The parsing error locates a boundary but does not alone tell us which bytes the server produced.

A network failure does not fully explain these records: a Response was obtained. Real debugging compares the body, parser, exception and error UI state. Correlation IDs join a request without logging session secrets.

How do you verify a correction?

Exercise valid found, normal missing/404 and invalid JSON separately. Found shows the right title; missing shows not found; parsing failure does not present stale data as success. Loading ends in all branches. This UI regression does not replace server authorization verification.

For screen-01, what finding is supported by reading the 200 receipt, parsing error and stale DOM title together?

  1. The correct book was parsed and displayed because a 200 arrived.
  2. HTTP receipt exists; successful parsing and a new view are not established.
  3. Content-Type proves that the body is valid JSON.

HTTP receipt exists; successful parsing and a new view are not established. — The narrow conclusion is that the parsing/view chain did not successfully complete after Response receipt. A request ID supports correlation; status and media type alone do not produce a parsed, business-valid book.

A learner labels these records “the network completely failed.” Why should that explanation be corrected?

  1. A Response was observed; a parsing error does not establish a complete network outage.
  2. With a 200, the error record must be a false parser alarm.
  3. Relabeling the old DOM title as current closes the issue.

A Response was observed; a parsing error does not establish a complete network outage. — Record network, HTTP receipt and body parsing outcomes separately. These records do not support total network absence; limited receipt evidence also does not prove end-to-end perfection.

Write correction checks for valid found, normal missing/404 and invalid JSON. Which view and loading conditions need separate verification?

Read the explained answer

Found displays the correct book title. Missing/404 selects the normal not-found view rather than claiming a disconnected network. Invalid JSON selects a parsing-failure view and does not present the old book as a new success. Loading ends in every branch. Compare response body, parsing outcome and view within one request context. These UI checks do not verify server authorization.

□ Are the found title and missing/404 view distinguished?

□ Does parsing failure avoid presenting the old book as a successful new result?

□ Does loading end in all three branches while retaining the request context?

□ Are UI regression and server authorization evidence kept separate?
